And you thought he didn’t care

The Charlotte Observer recently reported something that struck me as odd, then consequently made me feel compelled to douse myself in lighter fluid and light up a cigarette . Michael Vick said in an interview on Hot 107.9 in Atlanta that if he had to pick one team to play for it would have to be the Carolina Panthers. No, that’s not the weird part (besides just being a bad business decision). The stupid part is up next:

“Well, you know, it’s close to home, I like the uniforms. You get to play against Atlanta twice a year. Ain’t nothing better than playing against your former team, right? So, yeah, that would be a good look, it would be a good look”, Vick said.

Really? Besides fascinating us with his grip on the English language he displayed absolutely no desire to, you know, get better at football. Good thing it’s close to home because the cycle wouldn’t be complete without frustrating and pissing off your hometown too.

“Ain’t nothing better than playing your former team, right?” Besides getting along with your teammates, getting the support of your fans and winning – but who the hell cares about that?

How can you say Michael Vick is heartless? The one thing I would definitely make sure to stress if I were the league pariah trying to mount a comeback is how cool my favorite team’s jerseys are. It would be kind of nice if he concentrated a bit more on playing football, or perhaps his vocabulary. Michael – it doesn’t matter where you play, being a jag off doesn’t look good on anybody.
